What is the VALUE of Permanent Makeup?
Let's talk about the value of permanent makeup. I'm going to use some of the nicer brands since permanent Cosmetics will produce the type of quality that Dior, Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Mac or any other high quality cosmetic would be able to produce if not better.
If we're talking about brows, a typical brow pencil of high quality will be about $25 and a typical woman who uses hers at least 5 days a week will go through her pencil monthly. That's $300 in one year and $600 in two. Even if you get your permanent makeup touched-up as often as the recommended 2 years, you will most definitely hit the $500-$700 mark a typical Powder Brow can cost you. The breakdown for lipsticks, glosses and eyeliner is equally if not more valuable. And that’s just talking money!
Then add in the time it takes every morning to pencil on a perfect eyebrow. Depending on your skill and precision, this can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes and sometimes more… plus results can be varying-yikes! Let's say you only put your brows on 5 days a week. That's 9 hours a year where you're just putting makeup on your eyebrows!
Now let’s talk Quality- by the end of your brow procedure, you should have exactly what you're looking for. A perfect brow every day, exactly the way you want it. I can tell you that I definitely got varying results on a daily basis when penciling my brows. Occasionally they turn out beautifully but there are days that they don't come out even, are lopsided, are too too thick or thin etc. That in and of itself holds tremendous value.
If you are getting a bit more mature in years or are still young but beginning to notice your eyesight isn’t what it used to be, you might be ready to throw in the towel at the thought of eyeliner all together. But again, this is yet another reason to enjoy a nice precise every day eyeliner. I’ve seen so many advanced women reap the benefits of permanent eyeliner.
Combine all this with a look that never washes off!! Waterproof comes in pretty handy at the gym and for athletes, when swimming and hanging by the pool, getting caught in the rain and popping in for a quick shower on your way out the door.
It looks great when you wake up in the morning to your significant other (or stranger depending on how you roll haha) but especially when you wake up to yourself… which is the category I fall into because my husband doesn't care even a bit about what goes into my look. I can hop out of bed late and run the kids to school in my bathrobe and still look halfway put together (as long as I don’t get out of the car.) The simplicity in and of itself holds a lot of value for me.
So, does paying $500 to $700 for a gorgeous permanent set of brows or a beautifully blushed lip sound like a great deal to you yet? Combined with the precision of a perfectly crafted brow, artfully pouted lip or finely tuned eyeliner that never washes off, I’d say it’s a steal!
